After arriving at LAX, we took an Uber to our hotel off of Hollywood Boulevard, the Redbury Hollywood & Vine, which was located across the street from the iconic Capitol Records building. Our hotel room included a four poster bed and turntable with a selection of vinyl, which was so unique and we loved.
We didn’t have time to linger for too long though; we quickly grabbed another Uber and headed out to the Warner Brothers lot for our scheduled 3:30 pm studio tour.
It was really cool to see the different facades and sets on the lot. I’m a huge “Friends” fan, so my inner fangirl came out when we saw things like the front of Phoebe’s dad’s house and, of course, the Central Perk set. “La La Land” had also recently come out in theaters, so I was delighted to see the cafe from the movie.
One of our favorite parts of the tour, however, was the prop house. So. Many. Props!
After the tour, we went up to Griffith Observatory (also featured in “La La Land”). There were about a million people swarming around, just hanging out or waiting to catch photos of the sunset. We could see the famous Hollywood sign off in the distance, and the views of the city were incredible.
After returning to our hotel, we ate at Shake Shack and then grabbed a drink at a bar nearby before heading back to listen to “Dark Side of the Moon” on our turntable.
The next morning, we decided to walk down Hollywood Boulevard, just to say we had done it, because we had a few hours before our flight home. We had breakfast at a restaurant where I ordered chicken and waffles, but the chicken was bone-in, so I’m not really sure they understood the concept of chicken and waffles like we do in the south. We walked down to Grauman’s Chinese Theatre (now TCL Chinese Theatre) where I found out Emma Stone and I are hand twins.
Finally, we took an Uber to the airport and headed home, ready to start our married life together.
